The next chapter
My name is Jeff Hunt. I am a 66-year old widower, who came to know the Lord at the age of 21 while serving in the Navy in Long Beach California. While I cannot share all of the countless encounters, signs, and indications that have overwhelmed me since my wife’s home going after 39 years of marriage, I can tell you that I am beyond confident that I have found God’s calling on this next season on my life.
With my retirement planned for July 2024 after 40 years with my current company, I aim to devote all my time to my new ministry: WWJD Water Wells (Where Would Jesus Drill). It started with an invitation to attend a water well drilling class at Equip International in North Carolina in May of 2022 from a longtime friend. After attending the class God immediately began opening doors and showing me the need for clean drinking water in so many places around the world. God has graciously allowed me to collaborate with our church and mission partners in Mexico and Uganda to pursue drilling water wells and aid in providing sustainable and clean drinking water. He also provided the funds needed to purchase an LS200 mud rotary drilling rig in 2023, along with the necessary supplies for our first well at the Rancho Dos Countries ranch in Zaragoza, Mexico. By God’s grace and provision, we completed that well in March of 2024.
I’ve also been blessed to make two mission trips to Uganda with our church. After much prayer and several conversations with Kenneth, our partner at Eden Missions, I am confident that God is also leading me to pursue a water well ministry there. Although the logistics and costs in Africa are more complicated, the need is even greater. I plan to visit Uganda, Congo, and Burundi in August 2024 to connect with local people and officials, gaining a better understanding and a clearer vision for the ministry there. As opportunities continue to build, I have been able to obtain my LLC for the state of Texas and am in the process of applying for my 501 3C.
