A scouting trip in Uganda

Arrived in Kampala, the capitol of Uganda on Aug 16th . While there I was able to meet with a local borehole driller named Anthony who has been drilling in Uganda for over 20 tears. I was able to gain a lot of information about geology, depth of wells, and cost of supplies in the various districts of Uganda. I also met with man named Herbert who is the local lead drilling director for CEED ministries who lives in Hoima and has been drilling for 1O years and uses the exact same rig that we have just purchased. He just happened to be in Kampala the same days I was there, no coincidence, (God is so good!). He was able to give me a lot of good info and suggestions for getting the ministry started and offered to assist more when we start drilling.

I also attended a pastors conference while in Kampala where I met one of the speakers who was from Florida. I mentioned I was starting a water well ministry which he said was interesting because he knew a guy that was doing the same thing in Zambia, so I got another good contact, another God moment!

I spent several days in Kisoro ministering with our mid-wife mission team seeing God do amazing things. While here God has connected me with another drilling team and has also allowed me to have a sit down meeting with the Kisoro district water manager who discussed drilling and water issues in this area of Uganda which is quite different from Kampala and northern Uganda which is where I will be going next week.

While there in the Gulu district (northern Uganda) I will be traveling with a drilling team supported by the Texans on Mission organization for a week. I am believing God will give me some very valuable insight on how to form a drilling team using locals and also learn more about the drilling process and logistics. I will also be looking into the possibility of acquiring a drilling rig that has only been used a handful of times, but is no longer needed. The best part is, it’s the same as the rig we have in the states, another God provision. God has surely been guiding my steps and opening doors during my trip up to this point and I am confident that I am on His path with WWJD water well ministry. I definitely fit the statement that “God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called”! Please keep praying for me and WWJD water well ministry.

Faith Hope and Love,

Jeff (John 4:13-14)
